A quick post

In order to avoid further commentary about my recent bout of blog maintenance laziness, I thought I should include a quick post for today.

Thanks to Josh Hancock, this morning recipient of the Gas Can of the Day, for making it possible to tolerate the Astros again.

I have a few rants saved up that will see the light of day at some point (music reviews, X3 complaints and the like). Alas, I'm running late again.

Believer

"Believer"
The twisted truth much like the snake
Clouds the judgments that you make.
A tangled web of half truths
Which scorch Earth for preaching sake.
Only within your circle can anyone relate.
Twisting teachings based on love
and turning them to hate

But you are the true believer
If only in your eyes
The tolerance of others
Just blasphemy and lies
And with your twisted bible
You march against the men
Who protect your right to echo
Your corrupt battle hymn

But why should I believe you?
What have you done in the end?
Taking ages to forgive the fallen
You were so quick to condemn
You taken the words I know
And warped them to deceive
Turning thoughts once held true
To words I cant believe

While you wish them harm, I bow and pray
Their families will find peace this day
In life they were all soldiers strong
So you attack their families when theyre gone
To further preach your hate
Mocking those of virtue
Whove found untimely fate

But do you even believe
The twisted truth you speak
Its not among the answers
That I would choose to seek
Unlike you I shall not judge
For it is not my place
But I hope that you will come to see
Your level of disgrace

But since you walk with devils
I have no choice but assume
That you truly are an echo
Of all this doom and gloom
And as it is I must move on
And leave you where you stand
To join the believers
with respect for their fellow man.

Gas cans for this week

3 awards driven by bitternness and then a legitimate gas can are included in this post.

Monday through Wednesday: The entire Houston Astros pitching staff.

Thursday: Francisco Rodriguez of the Orange County Angels. 1.1 IP with 4 runs given up in a 10-6 extra inning loss will earn you a can 9 times out of 10.

Alright not many candidates to choose from tonight but I'll go with Chad Orvella of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Happy Snow Patrol and Chili Peppers day.

Song Lyric of the day

You won't stop making sense
My tongue still misbehaves
And it's digging my own grave"

Due to the end of the semester...

I have been pathetically lax in blogging . This will be a bit disjointed but I have a lot of debris to address.

First off, I apologize for the lack of gas cans. Regular awarding will continue tomorrow.

Happy Pearl Jam Day everybody. Both Pearl Jam and Tool's 10,000 Days have been added to the music I listen to so you don't need to. Whenever I get back to reviewing anything this will matter.

In NFL draft news, I knew somehow the Texans would find a way to further irritate the fans. While I'm still willing to give him a chance, convincing football fans in this town that Mario Williams is better than either hometown hero Vince Young or the highlight prone Reggie Bush will take a lot of convincing.

Song lyric of the day #1 (long distance dedication to Reggie Bush)
"So set him up
Let him fall
Turn him over in your hands
God save the King of New Orleans"
Better Than Ezra -- King of New Orleans

As for final music comments, I would like the thank Mike for the intro to Pandora. Now I'm most definitely in further trouble. For those fans of relatively unknown bands from Texas and/or Oklahoma here's a couple who have recently updated or added new material:
Five Dollar Friend
MWK
Alpha Rev
Please check them out.

Song Lyric #2
"I'll get home
But I don't know how
I'm obsessed with the memories
That I cannot change now"
Five Dollar Friend-- "Dancehall"
