Radio in Braille

This is yet another effort in the world of "artistic futility." I decided to go with this one over the other effort just because it's less personal. If advised to do so I'll post "A Life Apart" later in the week, but until then enjoy this one.

Radio in Braille
By Aaron J Coyner

If I showed you the truth
Would you believe a word?
If I spoke of all the good things
Would it even be heard?
Or is it much like everything
Where politicians dwell
Where if there is no blood or doom and gloom
There’s no story to tell

Domestic, international
The stories all the same
How to spin this negative
And who the hell’s to blame?
Echoes in hallway
Since the audience has left
Singing songs of sorrow
For the apathetic and the deaf

You see and hear your own echoes
While opposing viewpoints fail
Logic-based arguments
Seem like radio in Braille
All we hear is static
From the left and from the right
Discord voiced in stereo
No real answers this night

So you travel ‘round the country
With your microphone in hand
To elitist for the people
To check where they really stand
You preach against a tyranny
Or disrespect the other side
While those of us objective
Know most everything’s a lie

Politicians and the media
Echo in each other’s head
But the voice of real Americans
It may as well be dead
Honesty and a true plan
Like radio in Braille
Just promise the stars in the sky
And collect the votes for sale

Niiiiiiiiiiice. Which is to say, nice. I'm always curious why the silent majority stays silent. I figure that a) they don't realize they're the majority, or b) they don't realize they're silent.
