Robertson over steps again

As I was going through my morning reading, I stumbled across an AP story in which Pat Robertson had suggested on air that the US should strongly considered the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

While I do not agree with Chavez's politics and his socialist/communist regime, There is no justification for Robertson's comments that I could find acceptable. Regardless of your opinions, there are certain lines that you cannot cross. Calling for someone's assassination just because you disagree with their politics and feel it would be an easier route than starting a war is still lunacy and completely abhorrent.

Then again that's only my opinion...

Song Lyric of the Day
"If I gave you the truth
Would it keep you alive?
Though I'm closer to wrong
and I'm further from right
And now I'm convinced on the inside
Something's wrong with me."
Seether - "Truth"

I admit that I too, in general, am not a fan of assassinations. However, I'm also not really that big a Pat Robertson fan. So it all works out.

I never have forgiven him and Falwell for their post-9/11 comments on "The 700 Club" anyway.

And doesn't the Bible say "Thou shalt not kill" someplace? I'm pretty sure I read that...

This has been another rambling blog comment brought to you by Mike.

Robertson has also stated that feminism leads to witchcraft and murder. So that's how trustworthy a source we're talking about here.

Mike, the Bible actually says "Thou shalt not commit murder." It's a fine line, and it's often mistranslated.

And do you honestly think we're not trying to kill Chavez now? We had no shame about going after Castro, Lumumba, Trujillo, Allende...
